EA Ships The Sims 2 Pets for the Wii to Retail Shelves

EA's Best-Selling Pets Videogame Now Available on the WiiREDWOOD CITY, Calif., Jun 11, 2007 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:ERTS) announced today that The Sims 2 Pets for the Wii has shipped to retailers around the globe. For the first time ever on the innovative Wii platform, Nintendo players and Sims fans alike will be able to use the accessible Wii controls to create pets for their Sims to train, play with, and love as their own!

Based on the popular The Sims 2 Pets -- which has sold nearly 5.5 million units worldwide -- The Sims 2 Pets for the Wii builds on the celebrated The Sims 2 experience that allows players to create and control digital characters throughout their lives while determining the outcome of their relationships and choosing their destiny. In The Sims 2 Pets, the easy-to-use Wii remote and nunchuck allows for a fresh Sims experience each time fans play. Just like in real life, Sims pets will require tender loving care and training. But beware! Unruly cats and dogs can dig up the yard, claw a new leather sofa, even topple the kitchen trash! With the addition of dogs and cats to the world of the Wii, there's no telling what might happen!

The Sims 2 Pets for the Wii will showcase the popular Create-a-Pet feature, allowing players to customize their pets' look by changing the body shape, color, fur, nose and more! Additionally, players will be have the opportunity to choose from a variety of existing breeds, the latest designer mixes, and have the ability to tailor their pets' personality. Want Rover to become a playful golden retriever, while Sassy maintains her sweet Siamese ways? It's easy! Fans can even teach their Schnoodle basic tricks like "sit and shake," "roll over," even retrieve the Sunday newspaper!
